Things Are Heating Up Summer!
Lincoln Children’s Theatre is excited to begin their first official summer as Lincoln Children’s Theatre (formerly Theatre Arts for Kids). Here are some of the top shows coming to a stage near you!
To the World We Dream About
“Hadestown” (Teen Edition) is a folk-opera musical reimagining the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, set in a Depression-era, post-apocalyptic world. Lincoln Children’s Theatre encourages teens and pre-teens (ages 10-19) to audition for the show. Sign up to audition at info@lincolnchildrenstheatre.org.
The Heat is Rising With Our Rising Stars Program!
Lincoln Children’s Theatre is bringing back their Rising Stars program! Many of their summer musical theatre offerings are now available to ages 3-6 in addition to their regular programming. These young performers will have exciting half-day opportunities to be part of the show and will even have their own special performance.
A Heatwave of Theatre is Coming to Lincoln Children’s Theatre This Summer
“Dinosaurs Before Dark Kids” brings this classic “Magic Tree House” story to life. Dinosaurs thrived in the humid, hot climates of South America and Africa. Step into the air conditioning at the Bethany Park Community Building to bring this story to life and you might learn some things about dinosaurs in addition to theatre!
A Whole New World
Set in the desert, “Aladdin Kids” is a hot pick for your musical theatre lover. This show has ample opportunity and stage time for all!
A Coat of Many Colors
“Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” takes us to ancient Egypt and the land of Canaan. With Joseph and his 11 brothers (often played by girls), this show offers FIFTEEN leading roles and an exciting ensemble filled with tunes representing so many different styles of music!
Creativity on Fire
Create Your Own Show will set your creativity on fire! For kids that love improvisation, storytelling, poetry, or even script writing, this will be their favorite week of the summer!
Director’s Choice
This summer’s Director’s pick is “Best Friends, A Very ‘STUFFIE’ Adventure.” Written by LCT Directors, Leah Arington and Lauren Cook, with former students Ellyson Stolcpart and Alexis Crist, this charming tale features your favorite stuffed animal friends! This original story begins on “Stuffie” Day in first grade and ends with your favorite stuffed heroes saving the day! Featuring themes of bullying, friendship, empowerment, and leadership, this is one you don’t want to miss!
